I am interested in Engineering but I am not that sure of which field would be the best to pursue or that would interest me the most. The two fields I find most interesting are Civil and Aerospace engineering. That is why I did the V. E. S. T. E. D Academy at Cal State L. A, yes it did interest me more in the field of engineering because most of the things we did was hands on labs but it still left me questioning what field would be the best. I am interested in the field of Transportation because it ties in with Civil Engineering because it acts as a sub division. I felt since I am interested in Civil engineering it would be interesting to find out more about the field of Transportation just because it is focused on the operation, design, and the planning of transport facilities in order to make the movement of people easier. I am not that sure of this field of engineering but who knows I might end up liking it more than Civil and Aerospace that I might decide to pursue just Transportation or I might decide to do both Transportation and Civil Engineering. My interest in this Summer Transportation Institute is very immense just because we will be exploring many things that can help me out in the future. It will allow me to explore what it would be like to have a career in transportation and if it might be something I want to pursue in life, the SAT preparation courses for college would also be a benefit just because some of us do not prep the correct way or do not even prep at all for a big exam like the SAT , and the computer training and CAD is an advantage just because I am not that familiar with computers and it would be very interesting to get trained on how to work things in the computer and other stuff. The whole preparation for math, physics, writing, and study skills will benefit everyone just because it will expand our knowledge a little bit more on things we already know or it will introduce us to new subjects we are not that familiar with. Overall, SIT can assist me in reaching my goals by allowing me this great opportunity to learn more about the field of Transportation as well as other things we are not taught at school or home.
